The mission of the Healthy Habit Hawaii Keiki Art Contest is to engage our children in uplifting solutions and highlight connections with Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities who have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (NHPI) commonly live in multigenerational households with limited access to culturally responsive healthcare services and linguistically appropriate resources, increasing possible health issues.

Mountain Sentinels Fellowship, Colorado State University

Dr. Katie Kamelamela of Hawai'i Island is a 2020 Mountain Sentinels Fellow. The Mountain Sentinels Collaborative Network works towards sustainability of mountain environments and communities worldwide. 2020 Fellows were granted support to improve social and environmental health and well-being to uplift individuals living or working in mountain communities affected by COVID-19. 

Papa Ola Lokahi

The mission of Papa Ola Lokahi is to improve the health status and wellbeing of Native Hawaiians and others by advocating for, initiating and maintaining culturally appropriate strategic acations aimed at improving the physical, mental and spiritual health of Native Hawaiians and their 'ohana (families) and empowering them to determine their own destinies. 
NHPI COVID-19 Response, Recovery, and Resilience Team
The Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Hawaii COVID-19 Response, Recovery, and Resilience Team (NHPI 3R) was established in May 2020, in alignment with the National NHPI Response Team, to improve the collection and reporting of accurate data, identify and lend supoprt to initiatives across the Hawaiian Islands working to address COVID-19 among Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders, and unify to establish a presence in the decision-making processes and policies that impact our communities. More than 40 agencies, organizations, and departments comprise the NHPI 3R Team. 
Akaka Foundation for Tropical Forests
The Akaka Foundation for Tropical Forests was founded in honor of former United States Senator Daniel K. Akaka, and in recognition of his lifelong commitment to the protection and promotion of Hawaii’s natural and cultural resources. To these ends, the Foundation supports place-based efforts that seek to protect and restore native tropical forests, including reducing or eliminating threats that degrade Hawaii’s bio-cultural heritage. 
Mauliola Endowment
Mauliola Endowment provides insights and tools based in Hawaiian epistemologies to amplify knowledge gifted by our ancestors through hosting Kānaenae Together, an online community for people interested in learning pule hoʻōla, prayers of healing/wellbeing to uplift one another during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Encourage keiki to enter

  1. Entries will be accepted from ages 5-18.
  2. Image and Media entries are welcome!
  3. Each contestant can submit up to five entries.
  4. Parents must provide consent for participation.
